Amanda Sferruzzi-Perri
Amanda was awarded a PhD from the University of Adelaide, Australia in 2007. In 2008, she was awarded a CJ Martin Fellowship from the NH&MRC to undertake research at the University of Cambridge, UK. In 2011, she was awarded a Next Generation Fellowship from the Centre for Trophoblast Research and in 2015, a Dorothy Hodgkin Research Fellowship from the Royal Society. In 2018, Amanda secured a permanent lecturing position in reproductive physiology at the University of Cambridge. Over the years, Amanda has received several prizes and awards, including most recently, a Lister Institute Research Prize (2018), the Society for Reproduction and Fertility Young Investigator Award (2018) and the International Federation of Placenta Associations Andrée Gruslin Award (2017). Amanda’s main research is focused on understanding the unique relationships among the mother, placenta and fetus, with the ultimate goal of improving pregnancy success and the long-term health of women and their families.
