Jo Perry
Dr Jo Perry is a Senior Research Fellow and Group Leader at the Liggins Institute, University of Auckland. Her research interests lie in the involvement of growth factors and hormones in human development and disease including complications of pregnancy and cancer. Dr Perry completed her PhD at the Institute of Cancer Research in London (UK) and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in Melbourne, Australia.
Since returning to New Zealand in 2005, her research has focused on human growth hormone in cancer progression, as well as placental development and function. Her group also investigates the mechanistic interactions of this hormone with conventional cancer therapies and is interested in the design of therapeutics directed against the growth hormone receptor.
